The word Ayurveda come from the Sanskrit roots ‘Ayu’ meaning “life,” and ‘Veda’ meaning “knowledge of life.” It is often called the science of self healing as the practical guidelines of how to live in harmony with nature and life are healing. Ayurveda is often called the Sister Science of Yoga, both over 5,000 years old. While Yoga was developed as a practical method for achieving self realization, Ayurveda was developed as a practical method for maximizing health and increasing longevity.
