Jennifer (Ambika) specializes in the ancient Vedic healing sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga. Jennifer was introduced to yoga and meditation when she was 15 years old. She has continued to practice yoga and meditation as the foundation of her life. When she began studying Ayurveda she realized that she found the missing link of wisdom to develop optimum health. Because of the physical and mental benefits of adding Ayurveda to her own life, she is committed to guiding anyone who is interested in Improving their health with the wisdom of Ayurveda.
Jennifer’s first career was as a Clinical Registered Dietitian. Jennifer has worked throughout the United States in major Hospitals, including Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy Virginia, Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital, Bethel Alaska, and Oroville Hospital, Oroville California. In her position as a Clinical Registered Dietitian she educated patients on nutrition for many health conditions including Cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and many other conditions that require nutrition intervention.
Jennifer received her first Certification as a Yoga Instructor in 1999 as a Sivananda yoga instructor. It was during this Yoga training course that Dr. Halpern, director of California School of Ayurveda, gave a presentation on Ayurveda. Inspired by his talk about Ayurveda she began studying Ayurveda at the California School of Ayurveda, Grass Valley California.
She relocated to California from Alaska in 2000, and completed her certification in 2003. It was in 2003 that she created the business Ambika’s Ayurveda, in Chico, California. Jennifer’s vision is to educate on nutrition related concerns, and to bring the science of Ayurveda and yoga into her patients life. Ambika’s Ayurveda has developed Ayurveda oils that are healing for the body tissues, and also offers self care products, herbs and Ayurveda rejuvenation treatments.
Jennifer’s specialty is in Ayurveda’s detoxification and rejuvenation treatments called Panchakarma. She has given retreats in Hanna, Hawaii, Haines, Alaska, Chico and GrassValley California, and has given 5 retreats inVietnam (Cu Chi , Dalat and Hui). Jennifer has been apart of the Ayurveda Rejuvenation program at Sivananda Yoga Farm Ashram, Grass Valley since it was developed in 2003, and continues to support the program several times per year giving lectures and leading retreats.
